Question 3: What are the hours?
At Lawson Enterprises, it's all about flexibility! Choose your own schedule based on what works best for you. While we recommend a minimum of 10 hours per week to meet most client contract requirements, the power is in your hands!
Question 4: Are any benefits provided?
As an independent contractor, benefits such as medical, dental, and vacation time are not provided. You will not be classified as an employee, meaning any necessary coverage will be the agent's responsibility.
Question 5: Is training paid?
As independent contractors, the "certification" process is not considered traditional training. Certification Training is a combination of paid and non paid training as the process is categorized into two phases. Phase 2 certifications offer earn while you earn compensation while you apply your learning from Phase 1 during live calls. You are required to attend all certification courses, and once completed, you will begin taking calls for which you will be compensated!
Question 6: Are there any costs associated with this opportunity?
Great question! As an Independent Contractor working with us, there are a few costs and benefits to consider.
Costs
Background Check Fee: You are responsible for the background check fee. This is a one-time expense of $30 to ensure a smooth onboarding process.
Platform Fees: A servicing fee of $55 is associated with using our partner's platform and our administrative fees. This fee is deducted per pay period. It's a way to cover the costs of providing you with tools, technical support, and other resources. This fee is lower than standard tax deductions typically seen in traditional employment.
Benefits
Tax Deductibility: The positive side is that both the background check fee and platform fees are tax-deductible. This means you can potentially reduce your taxable income when it's time to file taxes.
Control Over Expenses: As an independent contractor, you have control over your business expenses. You are responsible for covering your own operating costs, including landline phone service, internet, and any necessary equipment to perform your role. Many of these expenses can be deducted to minimize your tax liability.
No Tax Deductions from Pay: Keep in mind that no taxes are deducted from your pay. While this means you receive your full pay, it's crucial to set aside money for taxes and consult a tax professional for proper filing.
In a nutshell, being an independent contractor involves some costs, but the tax advantages can make it a financially savvy choice. As always, seeking advice from a tax professional will ensure you navigate this aspect wisely.
Question 7: What is the rate of pay?
The pay rate varies based on the client you choose to work with. Currently, agents earn between $10.00 and $25.00 per hour as a base rate. There is no cap on how much you can earn—the more hours you work, the more income you generate!
Question 8: Are taxes withheld from my pay?
No, taxes are not deducted from your bi-weekly pay. As an independent contractor, you will receive a 1099 form instead of a W-2 for tax purposes at the end of the year.
Question 9: Can I work with multiple clients?
Feel like a multitasking pro? You can work for more than one client, as long as schedules don't clash. Enjoy the freedom to earn on your terms. Keep in mind, though, a friendly reminder: you can't terminate more than 2 contracts per year, and meeting performance requirements keeps you enrolled in the success journey.
Question 10: Do you offer contracts internationally?
Currently, we only contract with agents within the United States, with the exception of the following states: California, Connecticut, Colorado, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New York, New Jersey, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Washington, and Wisconsin.
